HAPPY NEW YEAR
Sorry it's late, but I guess I can still say it
Keynote
To be very honest, there is no keynote today. I just wanted to show up this year before January runs out. Sheesh! Setting goals is hard, extremely hard! It is, however, with deep regret that I want to inform you that I will no longer be writing newsletters.
NA LIE O😹 We’re just getting started. I’ve actually missed writing, and that’s owing to having writer’s block, but guess who found cement? Me of course! (whatever you do, don’t try to process the joke, you will hurt your thinking).

Basic Gist
The actual basic gist is that, for a while I've been off writing. I think one thing harder than continuously writing is when you stop writing for a prolonged time. I don’t know if that makes sense.
I promised you all good writing, value, content, and resources this year, and I mean it. I’ve always enjoyed writing the way I have conversations with people and that’s what influences my writing style. Not that I can't write like I'm writing a thesis or a whole research paper, but life is already tough, so writing (as well as reading written content), should not be tough.
Basic gist is that I will keep writing, and you all are my accountability partnerssssss. Big ups to everyone that checked up on me (esp my content manager for the brand), and everyone else who are always happy to receive a notification from me. Lovely.
What’s been happening
Well, I've been doing a lot behind the scenes. I’ve been trying to develop my writing course to teach, and also gather materials and content for the training I promised this year, and we’re halfway there.
LMAO, that my friend, is a big fat lie.
I’ve not been in touch with my writing side for a while. I’ve really spent the most parts of last year and early this year trying to take a breather. I’ve been relaxing from being sucked in by always wanting to create, and just finding meaning and happiness in life. The small things.
And while trying to do that, 9 to 5 came to steal my joy away, and that’s why I’m like this. But a promise is a promise. I devoted to writing and write I shall!
Movie Recommendations
This is a part of me I love to share. I watch movies so you can watch (or not watch) them. Let me waste the 1hr 30mins plus of my life, so you don’t waste yours.
Anywaysssss. The movies I’ve seen in recent times that I love and would recommend are. Uncut gems, Predestination, and Gold Brick. I love these movies but not equally, so I’d be doing a brief explanation of all 3 without dropping spoilers in the order I like them, starting from the least.
Gold Brick
First thing that might put you off is that it’s not an English movie, and the second is that it’s on Netflix (this is bad news if you’re broke like me and don’t pay subscriptions), but that’s where I watched it.
It features a young man and his friend who grew up poor in a city where there is a predominantly rich family (imagine the Otedolas being very rich and owning a popular company in a city and almost everyone works there). He and his friend struggled to make sure he didn’t work for that family, but economy hard, things tuff! He ended up working there but he is a smart person, and he discovers a way to beat the system to become mad rich for himself.
Along the line, he finds love (with him manager o), makes up a team, infiltrates the system, and the rest, I’ll leave you to find out as you watch.
The movie has plot twists that you would not see coming, and in general is a very interesting watch. Rating it a 7/10
Predestination
I don’t know where to get started with this movie. But if you love paradoxes, this is the movie for you.
To be fair, if I try to describe this movie for you, I will drop spoilers, so let me google how they described this movie and drop it here for you.
For his final assignment, a top temporal agent must pursue the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time. The chase turns into a unique, surprising and mind-bending exploration of love, fate, identity and time travel taboos.
You see am? I won’t say more than that. The movie is a mad paradox and makes you really wonder what the hell is going on. When you watch the movie, I want you to put yourself in the agent’s shoes, and tell me if you could do the same thing. Also try to answer the questions it leaves you with as to who certain people in the movie are. I’ll be waiting. I’m giving this a comfortable 8.5/10
Uncut Gems
This movie messed with my emotions. I was literally living the life of the main character. It was suspenseful and very engaging. I was happy when he was, hopeful when he was, and even angry at him at some point for being such an ass. But in general, this movie is that movie that just takes a turn you’d never expect or understand.
It features a man who’s a jeweler and a chronic gambler trying to navigate his life, and survive while trying to settle debts, family life, and business. To be honest, this man struggled, and at some point it felt like things starting panning out well, and I really loved to see it, but then the maddest twist happens. Well, you have to watch it to find out. This movie is an absolute 10 for me because of the way it made me feel.
Will you be watching all 3?.
Last notes
I really appreciate everyone of you that have pushed me to continue writing. The value I promised, I will deliver. Just watch this space.
